Last night in Lucerne

Now returned to our hotel after a wonderful afternoon on Mount Pilatus, I noticed the ferryboat we had taken coming back to port

No more boats for us today, we would be using our feet from here on in

A stroll by the lake again in the early evening

There is a casino along the waterfront but as we don't gamble we didn't go in.

I didn't take any more photos that evening. We watched the sunset again from a table by the fast-running Reuss at a restaurant called Taube, right next to Nix where we had eaten last night so the view was the same and the food just as good. Once the sun was set we strolled along the darkened streets again, enjoying the quiet little squares and their fountains.

Tomorrow we would be taking the short drive to Zurich to attend the opera there.  A short journey so we didn't have to wake up early. We spent some time in the hotel piano bar and on the terrace out front before retiring for the night.

So next morning.... I am up early anyway and enjoying a double espresso from the train station across the bridge.

The Performing Arts Center

We would enjoy another hotel breakfast buffet and later stop to have coffee in a Starbucks along the Reuss River. They had tables outside which we enjoyed.

Carol went to an exhibition showing the work of the artist Paul Klee (but I am not a fan) in the
Sammlung Rosengart. It was near the end of the bridge to the bus station.

The streets are immaculately clean

While Carol returned to the hotel after her time in the Museum, I walked along the waterfront to the Hotel Monaco, which had been another hotel I looked at on Tripadvisor when choosing before our trip. It's reached  by a little funicular car at street level as it's on a very steep hill, which I hoped would give me a new perspective on the city.

After my walk it was time to return to the hotel to pack for the journey to Zurich which is only 45 miles away.

See you there!
