Drivin' to Muir Woods

As with most cities we visit, we like to leave them behind and take day trips to "see what's out there" and escape the energy of the city to enjoy some tranquility and natural beauty.

So today we decided to visit Muir Woods. Like Pt. Reyes it involves driving across the Golden Gate Bridge to get North of the city. There's a Scenic Overlook on both sides, the grander of the two being on the South side shortly after the toll plazas.

Looks like a nice day for a drive.

We are leaving the city behind-nothing personal!

It's a popular spot.

Many people walk across the bridge or ride bicycles. Not us.

Looking back to the Toll Plaza. You pay on the way into the city.

We'll be making a lunch stop in Tiburon before heading into the woods. There's a cafe there on the water we want to try.

    1. Frank, thanks for the compliments and for reading my blog. I am fond of Muir Woods and in fact the whole Bay area. We go to San Francisco every July for the past three years for a July 4 fireworks cruise and take coastal drives. We have a long history of visiting San Francisco over the past 20 years and always find something new to enjoy. Cheers!
