Early morning Vienna

I was out of the hotel around 7 a.m to enjoy a walk on the empty streets and take some photos.

I asked the hotel to pose for a couple of shots.

I didn't stray more than 15 minutes from the hotel as I strolled along. Much of what I walked was pedestrian streets and cafes were just starting the process of setting up their outdoor tables. Small trucks were making deliveries to them.

Random street shots follow ....

Albertina Museum

Hotel Sacher where we dined last night

The Vienna Opera

Opera House detail

As seen in the shot above there is a Casino and a Burger King in this street.

The Cathedral on the distant right is St Stephan's and guess what? Yes! It's currently under renovation. It has one of those ingenious "masks" in it's likeness covering up unsightly stone work.
It was the same when we last saw it in 2008 only then they were restoring the colorful roof.
There's a McDonalds in the shot, near right if you need a taste of "back home" but I wouldn't dream of it here where every ethnic cuisine under the sun is represented.

Carol and I had arranged to meet for breakfast at 9 a.m so I had ample time to wander and enjoy the awakening streets.
