Bamberg Cathedral

We had to stroll up a very steep street to reach the Cathedral. We tried to have it meet us halfway but were ignored as it's so full of itself.

It was worth the trek, even in the high 80s heat.

It actually has 4 spires (show-off!) but only two seen from this vantage point.

Inside it was cool and quiet. Although I am not religious I can see how stepping into a space like this could calm your soul as you leave the hubbub of the mediaeval/modern world outside.

I was glad Carol had suggested this visit but soon we had to think about moving on and stepped back into the sunshine

One last look and then we gave our feet their marching orders...
