Parc Guell

A twenty, maybe 25 minute drive brought us to Parc Guell and Luis let the three of us off and went to find a place to park and wait for us. We allowed about 90 minutes to spend here before finishing our tour and being driven to our hotel.

Not surprisingly there were a lot of visitors there before us but Parc Guell is an outdoor attraction and so there is plenty of room for the crowd to disperse.  This was one of the few indoor exhibits but we weren't interested in (a) lining up or (b) being indoors on a nice day.

We already had our tickets thanks to Pepito Tours and so didn't have to join a line to buy tickets, but rather walked right in.

We're going up those stairs where I hope to get a view of Barcelona

It's a hazy, cloudy day with a threat of rain

That's a park security officer in the yellow vest. He was mainly occupied in keeping people from climbing on the statuary.

Mosaics abound

A bench thoughtfully placed as you climb the stairs

It's a popular tourist attraction!

Mighty stone pillars support the leading edge of the huge plaza above

You can see the cranes working on Sagrada Familia in the distance

This is the rear of the plaza and we'll go down there later

The vast expanse of the plaza

More mosaics

To be continued....
