Parc Guell continued

The thing I liked most about Parc Guell was that it was out in the open fresh air on a pleasant morning in Barcelona. The crowd was dispersed compared to Sagrada Familia and so I could relax more and just enjoy the sights of this remarkable site. It was supposed to be a 60 unit housing community for those who could afford it but that didn't attract a lot of buyers so the city government bought it and opened it as a municipal park in 1926. Gaudi lived there for 20 years from 1906.

We left the upper plaza and descended to the level below. Here is a Gaudi gate.

It's much less crowded down here and we liked the shade

I can't read a word of Spanish, besides Tapas and Por Favor. Luckily there are universal symbols for the restrictions.

Carol finds a bench while talking to Anna

It's a hazy, cloudy day but the rain has stayed away since the thunderstorm at docking

Luis calls Anna to let her know he is just outside the park gates, waiting for us

We walk towards the entrance

We say adios to Parc Guell

Our tour is almost over. We have been basking in the beauty and ingenuity of Gaudi's imagination for four hours and now all that remains is to be driven to our hotel where we can stop moving and just relax.

Outside as we return to the car I spot these cool little vehicles ....

As we drive to the hotel I'll be taking photos along the way so you can see some more normal non-Gaudi architecture.....
