Sorry for the delay in writing but I have been on another cruise to the Caribbean to escape the cold of Chicago and am in the process of writing a review on cruisecritic.com.
I hope to continue with our Italy cruise very soon!
Thanks for your patience!

After Livorno
We have left Livorno and are on our way to Genoa. When it's dark our thoughts turn to dinner and a show or vice-versa.
Tonight's show is a very good ventriloquist who delights the crowd from beginning to end. Very funny!
Another satisfying meal and as we again have to be up early next morning to go on a long excursion of 8 hours or so to Cinque Terre, it's time for an early(ish) night to get some sleep.
Early next morning while it is still dark I set off on my usual trek to get coffee and watch the ship come into Genoa harbor.
Next to her in a dry dock is the sad remains of the once beautiful Costa Concordia, being dismantled
Soon I have to return to our cabin for breakfast and pick up our tickets for our excursion by bus to Manarola to begin our Cinque Terre visit. It will take us 90 minutes to get there.
Join us on our tour!

Then on to dinner starting with a Caesar salad
I'm thinking this is salmon?
A sorbet between courses
Roast pork with mashed potatoes and broccoli

No other passengers are around as I wait for an elevator to the buffet for coffee
At each elevator is a sign showing what is on each floor
Genoa harbor is ablaze with lights
I have the pool deck all to myself at this hour
The Tradewinds bar where I usually sit during the day
As in Livorno a tug arrives to help us to the dock
There's a large oil drilling ship docked
Next to her in a dry dock is the sad remains of the once beautiful Costa Concordia, being dismantled
We will dock beside this building

Leaving Livorno
Back on board the ship after 9 hours of our Florence excursion. Here's brief video from our visit there...
The harbor is so vast which explains why you can't get off the ship and walk into Livorno center without using a shuttle bus.
I had the camcorder running....
Once Livorno is lost in the distance it is time to think about dinner and a show...
We're on the ship now until we get to Genoa tomorrow

Our exit to Genoa is between those two breakwater walls
The view from our balcony at the rear of the ship
It's "Magic Light" time just before the sun sets
A cargo ship is leaving before us
The Livorno we didn't get to see except through my zoom lens
Now it's our turn to leave
Lights are coming on
Luxury yacht builders
Arrivederci Livorno! I hope to see you again someday
